Spring is sacred
And hard to hold.
It is here but a moment,
Yet it is so bold.

Summer is ours.
It is still and hot.
We welcome the rain
As do our crops.

Autumn arrives
And changes are apparent.
We know what is coming;
Cold weather is inherent.

In winter we must gather
Our defensive attitude.
But without our winters here
There would be no gratitude.

North Dakota is our home,
Open and wide.
We love our state
And we live here with pride!
