It’s harder to find than it used to be, but will always be available to memory.
An owl asks a snoopy question.
Frogs sing loving songs
to stars across the sky.
Wind and trees together
share haunted harmonies
under pale, moonlit clouds.
Coyotes howl long-distance,
a bobcat screams defiance.
Loons haunt arboreal lakes
with calls to deep memory.
A bandit splashes in shallows
in a stream that whispers tales
of a cold and distant spring.
Breath flows easy again,
in recollected forest of home
on a north land summer night.
