A poem letting everyone know that life is nothing like the fairy tales of our youth.

Cinderella do you ever think,
Why your happiness was gone in a blink?
You’re on your own once more,
Happily ever after is just a child’s lore.
Life is not a fairy tale,
Jack ran off leaving Jill to carry the pale.
One does not wake with a single kiss,
So many Prince Charmings run off with the next Miss.
The fairy god mother does not come at your beck and call,
When is the last time you were invited to a ball?
One must cross her fingers and hope for the best,
A knight and shining armor won’t be presenting you with his family’s crest.
I hope you find for what you wish for,
But loneliness and long nights are all that is in store.
