Then again…. some who profess to love someone actually have NO idea what that really means.

So far, it doesn’t seem to matter

What I say or what I do

I’m not getting through to you

I can’t smash the preconceived notions

You have no understanding of what love is

Convinced it can be bought and manipulated

So long as I stay

Everything must be okay

There’s so much more to it you can’t grasp

Several pieces of the puzzle missing

I’m not getting through to you

My words lost in your whirlwind

Going through all the motions

You are supposed to go through

No feeling or thought attached to actions

Only expectations, obligations

Mimicking what those in love do

I’m lost as to what else to try

What to do after all this time

I’m not getting through to you

A very deep and disturbing piece, hope you go through to ‘him’ soon.

You penned this well with deep concern and wonder. It is a true understanding of this situation that one can write such a detailed example of wonderment.
