He said, "kiss the rain whenever you miss me." It had not rained for twenty years.
Lost in the rain, drenched to the soul
Broken at heart and hollowed through bone
Woefully mesmerized for a day and a half
A long lost memory, I find; behold
A kiss in the droplets, a hug of warmth
With these few steps a friendship formed
But now like china, nothing but antique
After this rain was summoned the storm…
Vanishing velvet, slipped through like silk
The streets were flooded, the homes were filled
“I’ll remember you” now had ceased and faded
My tears for you have finally spilled.
Intricately woven, delicate string
Blanketed the town and left not a thing
A hush had whispered over the crowd
You forget, and look what I bring….
A vengeance surging deep in the veins
A dynamic outrage barely contained
Not to be forgotten, will I ever leave…
Leave you like you left me, standing alone in the rain.
