Just what the title says. a rather strange dream I had once.

Looking around, everything having a solid form, I walk around trying to find my way through this maze.

What I find is a rippling effect of change, those things I’d seen before now different in size and shape.

I find myself lost, but somehow, I’m able to make my way around the maze without hitting a dead end.

And yet, even with the help of my memory, I still seem to run around in circles.

What to do now when all around me is different and new with each passing minute?

I ask myself this over and over again until I wind up in an open space, a fountain in the center of a garden.

Strange, I think, that this is here all alone, so out of place in this maze of stone and rock.

Looking around, I try and see what or how this garden is living on it’s own.

There are no other signs of life; no human or animal having left any traces.

I creep towards the fountain, smelling the sweet scents of the roses and lavender.

Not thinking of the path that I’m stepping upon, my feet just seem to move all on their own.

Reaching the fountain, I sit on the edge, looking down into the water.

It looks as though the water flickers with life and color, but I shake my head at this, knowing it can’t be true.

However, this is my dream and what happens here is what I create, right?

Gazing into the water, the strangest thing of all happens in its depth.

Instead of seeing a world of imagination and fantasy, the real world appears before my eyes.

I see myself, my family, and my friends all doing their own thing.

Blinking with slight shock, I reach out my hand to touch the surface of the mirror before me.

But, as soon as my fingertips press against the liquid, the image vanishes and I wake up in my bed.

I look up at the ceiling of my bedroom. I begin to think back on the dream that is still so vivid and bright.

What was it all supposed to mean…if anything at all?

I know not but whatever it was…nothing was as it seemed.
