A short “early days” rhyme for my granddaughter, now living in Oz.
She gurgles and she grumbles,
She giggles, then she stumbles.
The grass looks like it wants to run
And play at peek-a-boo,
As little Isabella yells to Dad a
“goo-goo” too for you.
At party time she eats a part
Of every body else’s tart.
A bit of cream,
A choccy chip.
My, is that really
A jam filled lip?
It’s hard for her to tell you
The sugar’s up her nose.
Her little friend and buddy,
Is munching on a rose.
The cookie plate is full of ants
And sweetie wrappers too.
The butterfly has gone and left
No crumbs for me and you.
Mummy wears a clown size suit
While Daddy wears the hat,
And Isabella laughs out loud
At “Stitch” the doggy fat!
She has a little bucket and
A spade and inner tube.
‘cause Isabella also knows
it rains on birthdays too.
Tummy full and eyes all sleepy,
Girly tired and nosey weepy.
Isabella thinks, of all her friends
She definitely is…
Notafella.
