Nothing is perfect…

nothing is perfection

flawless beauty without a price

even when drawn so carefully

straight lines are never quite precise

no one person’s the most beautiful

there’s always something not-quite-right

even the fabled “happily ever after”

with its princesses and gleaming knights

has something wrong-

where is the end?

did the writer get bored

and lack initiative to transcend?

so…they grew old and then they died?

it’s as if the story has denied

the absence of a perfect world

where characters live to the climax of their life

and skip the resolution; the struggle; the strife

but everyone living in the real world knows

that this is not how a story goes

nothing is perfection

author’s note: Thank you to ashan1614 for the ending!!!

    Just an idea…..

where characters live to the climax of their life

and skip the resolution; the struggle, the strife

but everyone in the real world knows

that this is not how the story goes

    nothing is perfection

It was a thought-filled poem. You show a great deal of insight for a person of your years. Stay close to Ashcan1614…she’ll be a good friend but rely on your own instincts, as well.

Thus we shall strive towards excellent and not perfection…

Nothing wrong with striving for perfection,
it will always give you room to improve.
