The poem is about the subtle differences of word, gesture or expression read in lucid manner among love and reading them determines the depth of love.
You have known me for only a couple of years yet
You know me more than myself
Your eyes can read me like a child’s picture book
With lucid illustrations well described
In colour and simple language legible and unambiguous
The slight change in expressions fleeting in the eyes
Even when veiled with brittle silence or a ready smile
Are read by by you with complacent ease
As if you are my other half privileged with
A peep at my innermost thoughts
If I dislike a thought but refrain to express
You know with the slightest nuance of expression
A lost gaze of contemplation reveals my worry
A stifled yawn of boredom my disinterest
A tightlipped nod my acquiescence under duress
A smile swallowed some secret mirth yet unshared
A twinle in the puil or a glare malevolence
A shimmer in the eyes like pool of emotion
A softness in the stern look of anger
Some hidden soft corner of the soul
The subtle nuances those ingnored or unseen
By others supposedly close and dear to the heart
Are read like abook by your discerning gaze of nonchalance
You are my soulmate as your eyes reveal
My other half that knows me through and through
Someone connected to me by the cord of love
A cosmic connection never to be severed in life…
