Everyone has those boxes — boxes of nuisances — which we try to hide from others. We don’t want others to really know who we are until we are ready to let them in.
pack away
those nuisances
we try to avoid
in a box over there
anywhere possible
but still
their fumes
have a shadow
which causes an exhaust
to escape
from the tiniest cracks
and pin holes
a tunnel
to our past
and wishful thinking
we stumbled upon
in any awkward moment
elevating moods
to extinguish what’s left
of those which remain
out in the open
for all to see
pack them away
those nuisances
in a box
covering them up
with other boxes
so none of them escape
again
so none of them are seen
by others prying eyes
of deceit and hatefulness
