I love the city.

Morning dawn hits the New York skyline with clarity
Coffee shops bring out a new brew of Decaf
Aromas of exotic food and car exhaust fill the streets
With a cup of morning goodness
Blackberry’s go off and meeting schedule
Suits fly down the avenues

Saks and Bendels
Rising prices consume everything
Litter filters streets and minds
China Town pawns stolen goods
Two hundred dollar shoes over cheap necessities
Window set fashion aglow
Financial city of lights

Overbearing taxi lines
Speed kills
Burning rubber and honks heard constantly
New Yorker’s cross without worry
Tourists value their lives
To native disgust

A New Yorker’s destination is more important
Then their lives or anyone else’s
The race for riches commences on a
Daily green light
Known for their rudeness
Don’t get in the way

A place of confidence that matches
Marilyn Monroe
Cunning in business conferences
Fierce on Broadway stages
People go there to get an edge
Skyscrapers don’t look so high
When you ride high in New York.
