In the everlasting fight between nature and the elements, sometimes the elements win.
Freezing Rain falls
Lashing the street with icy streams
The old oak stands
Bending beneath the winter storm
Lightning strikes
The ancient tree is split in two
The tree falls
And once again the weather wins.
