Obsession

We go through life feeling many contrasting emotions
It is natural, no need to be make a commotion.
However there is one emotion that may cause our minds to twist
It will cause our minds to snap like a broken wrist.
For all of the times we are blinded, fueled by one thing.
There is a lot of dangers and destruction, obsession can bring.

It starts off innocent, it always will.
But eventually we crack when we all have our fill.
We will think that we are smart.
We think we can reign our obsession in, before it tears us apart.
But yet, there are times where we lose sight.
Of matters that is wrong and what is write.
We never would doubt the strength of our mind.
But yet, the consequences of obsession are not hard to find.

Never forget that in the end, the consequences could be minor or great.
Yet, there are some who lose themselves to a more twisted fate.
Sometimes we need to step back and reflect.
To keep our darker impulses in check.
It always comes up, with the most noble seed.
With something that we have tricked ourselves into what we need.
However for this warning, do take heed.
The most noble of dictators start out small but in time they have larger egos to feed.

It all starts with one step.
At the end, someone will have wept.
Obsession can throw us off the deep end.
The aftermath is something that will be most difficult to mend.
Yet we will have to realize that misery starts with a single task.
The only difference is some people choose to make that misery last.
We should be strong.
However when our character is tested, some are truly wrong.
Obsession, it brings us to our knees.
It can humble us, can’t you see?
Heroes can rise high.
But the fall is horrific enough to make one cry.
