A poem about the full moon I witnessed in October 2011.
October Moon
Aglow upon yon heavens bright
A’ shimmer on the evening sky
O’er darkness of an ample cast
October’s moon now floating by
A light to wish upon our dreams
Of days gone by and yet to come
Reflections on the fielded crest
A weaving of the thread we’ve spun
We gaze upon with much adore
In precious passing still we see
Of nighttime breeze and silhouette
Created by thy majesty
As shadows dance about and play
Upon the ground which we do tread
Alone before this evening due
We lie as one on earthen bed
In love, she lies here by my side
Now autumn’s only perfect bloom
I whisper that my love shan’t die
Beneath the bright October moon
Illumined is her wondrous smile
Within the glow from up above
Her eyes reflect thy golden light
Forever shining of our love
