Whimsical poem about the witches in October.

The nights of October grow colder.

There are witches in the air.

They swoop on their musty, old broomsticks.

They heckle, shout, and swear.

They’re in a fiendish mood.

They want to have lots of fun.

Watch out if you see a witch in the sky

By the light of the setting sun.

She’ll cast a spell on you.

You’ll turn into a plump, fat cat.

The only thing you’ll be good for

Is chasing pesky rats.

The nights of October are dreary.

Watch out for Witch Dreadful the most.

For if she spots you in her path,

She’ll turn you into a ghost.

Some witches are kind and pleasant.

Other witches are very bad.

Whatever you do when you approach a witch,

Never make her mad.
