A freestyle poem I wrote to one of my favorite obsessions!

Ode to my Resident Evil Videogames

I snap them in the Gamecube, Playstation, or Wii,

So that I can take out the many frustrations that bother me.

Bang, bang, shot dead a dozen zombies.

Set them on fire so they really don’t come back.

I pick and choose my guns and weapons,

The tools I’ll need to blast the heads off these monsters.

Their storyline is so stunning,

They’re sure to send small ones running.

Rebecca and Billy,

Chris and Jill.

Leon and Claire,

Then Jill, Claire, Leon, and Chris again in that exact order…Characters we all can choose,

Then go sad seeing the jolting death scene when we lose.

Resident Evil Zero,

A train ride to hell must we figure.

Then go though a facility now haunted,

By one of the original founders of the evil Umbrella Corp.

Resident Evil,

We take a tour with Christ or Jill of a TRUE haunted mansion.

Zombies, Crimson Heads, and Hunters,

Even zombie dogs we suffer!

Resident Evil 2,

Raccoon City is now infested,

Poor rookie cop Leon,

With Claire by his side…is heavily tested.

Resident Evil 3,

Jill again we see!

She too must brave the city full of zombies and monsters,

Then leave before the city is blown away by the President.

Resident Evil:  Code Veronica X,

Claire is back with an all new fix.

Still trying to find her brother in an insane man’s lair,

She even goes all the way to Antartica…

To face this Veronica!

Resident Evil 4

Six years after the fact,

Leon is back…taking on an all new pact.

The president’s daughter he must save,

Out of the clutches of a cult with the entire world in its plan.

Resident Evil 5,

This game Chris, along with Sheva must dive

Into the realms of Africa.

Where the terrorists have taken what was once Umbrella’s,

To once again take over the world!

At the end of each game you see,

Is a wonderful explosion to complete the story!

Perfect for easing the mind and diminishing anger,

I hug each one of these games with a constant hunger.

I will never tire of each one of them,

‘My babies’ I’ll even call them!

Never before have I been so obsessed,

With a videogame series I’ve assessed.

These games are always at my side,

Whenever I wanna take a survival horror ride!

When I’m hurt or depressed,

Works better when I’m angered to play these games ‘til I’m better.

In fact,

I love them so much…

My next few poems will be about their adventures,

Taking care to remember,

To play them at least once everyday!
