Ode to the Machine you sit at right now.
After you read this you should thank your computer for letting you be able to enjoy the epicness of this Ode.
Ode to the Computer
You instrument of technology
Finely crafted silicone and plastic
Made of years of hard work
Scientists worldwide
All so people can play Doom in 3D
A device of communication
Laughs, sobs, and inside jokes
Shot instantly across the world
Sharing feelings and emotions
Be it friend, foe or acquaintance
Bringer of music, player of tunes
Droppin’ beats like it’s nobody’s business
But who’s nobody? Internet knows
Viral video, homemade clips
News, music, videos all to me
You solid object, good in a fight
When dropped on feet, you cause a megahertz
Weapon, like sword or club
Metaphorically, too
Hate mail ain’t good, but it’s out there
Computers do a lot
Expose terrible truths, better off buried
Click! Clack! You whir away
Doing homework, day after day
Typing papers, essays, thesis
What would one do?
Without the computer
As comforting as a warm, weathered helping hand
As new as the early morn dew
Sometimes confusing, to inexperienced
Viruses are never good
Sometimes I’m forced to wonder
Who is General Failure?
Get him out of my computer
To communicate instantly
To entertain
To inform
To do homework
Aah Computer
