I extol the virtues of a new day.

Ode to the Morning.

I lie awaiting the first hint of light,

The darkness dispelling.

I see it now, the first ray of impending glory!

Light taking form.

Be gone you gloomy shadows of the night

Your master is here.

The great orange globe begins its ascent,

Dispelling the dew left by the now departed night.

The brook dancing in the sunlight,

Murmuring its way to the sea.

Birds chirp, bounding here and there,

Seeking that elusive worm, their breakfast fare.

Smiling I arise, energized by the sounds of approaching day,

Enlivened by the dancing sunbeams.

I drink the nectar of new life served by the morning breezes,

On a tray of scents of woodland, marsh and sea.

Memories of the night forgotten,

Embracing the light.

    This poem speaks of rejuvenation,
    After a night’s lonely sojourn,
    And
    As one does awake
    And
    Sees the beautiful morn,
    Hopes arise,
    As does the wonderful dawn.

You sir live from hour to hour,
    Enjoy life hereafter,
As we at your age marvel too,
How life still does you woo.

I do hope this exclusive poem for you,
    Energizes the will
Yet to another decade to view.

    Best of luck Sir,
    I wish to see you,
For many a morns yet due.
