A sonnet ode to the music rest to metaphorically hint at the power of silence, introspective meditation and reflection in life as well as all art forms.
Creative, finely cadenced artistry,
weaves counterpoint with melodies refined,
producing auditory poetry
that elevates the height of human mind.
Elation is the voice of inspiration—
the quest of all who wish to be a guest
in citadels of lofty concentration
where finest silence find’s its peacefulness.
Cacophonies’ contempt becomes exempt
from momentary stillness of the rest
between the fluid tones whose flow preempts
the probe of mystic inward-centeredness.
Accentuating silence using sound,
ironically, makes music more profound.
