A poem about a struggling relationship.

Off you run

Away from me

To a meeting

Where life’s easy

Your ideas rarely challenged

With them you are safe

An irreplaceable genius

The prime of your race

I make you uneasy

Your nonprogrammable love

Fights fill you with confusion

My pleading you’re above

When change isn’t worth it

And “I’m sorry” is a lie

When “I love you” is a struggle

And trust left without saying goodbye

Where did we go wrong?

I’ll never know

I had such high hopes for us

Now I just hope you’ll let me go
