You go downtown and you look around.

Oh Billy, whatcha gonna’ do?

Don’t see your friends,

Everybody is gone.

Driving around in your beat up car,

Oh Billy, whatcha gonna’ do?

Still looking, finding nobody.

Now Billy, whatcha gonna’ do?

Somebody tells you they’re all over there,

Having a party and drinkin’ away.

Oh Billy, whatcha gonna’ do now?

Off to the party you go, and

There, you sadly find ,

Your best girl dancin’ with some guy.

Oh Billy, whatcha gonna’ do?

Try cuttin’ in, but she says no.

Oh my Billy, whatcha gonna’ do?

Try again, no she says again.

Billy, Billy whatcha gonna’ do?

Walk away, you try to wait,

They keep dancin’, is this fate?

Oh poor Billy, whatcha gonna’ do?

Drink some more, feelin’ very bad.

They keep dancin’, you’re mad as hell!

Oh Billy, what will you do?

Leave the party, gonna’ go home.

Oh Billy, maybe you shouldn’t

Drive so fast, but it’s too late,

Didn’t see the curve, turned too fast,

Oh Billy, Billy, what did you do?
