I’ve overdone it again.

Image via Wikipedia

Christmas is over and I’m feeling so frail.

All the food and frivolities have turned me quite pale.

I’ve lost all my spark and just want to lie down

In a darkened room all my sorrows to drown.

I had good intentions, but they went by the board,

After all the hard work I needed reward.

The turkey, the cake, the chocolate and nuts

Have given me nothing but a pain in the guts.

I had a great time, and was full of good cheer,

But that binge will have to last me till this time next year.

  • XXElleXX on Dec 29, 2009

Hehehe..oh well..how often do you get to eat turkey, chocolate, cakes and nuts in one sitting..hehehehahaha..nice one Christine :-)

  • ken bultman on Dec 29, 2009

Another really cute poem. I was led to believe you were supposed to stuff the turkey.

  • deep blue on Dec 29, 2009

As Ken told, I was in the same point of thinking. BTW, I suppose 7 out of 10 got the same frustration you get. I presumed I added 5 pounds for sleeping and eating in the last 5 days.We could cut on food intake this coming New Year though, Christine.

  • Frances Lawrence on Dec 29, 2009

A very funny poem. Why do we always eat too much at Christmas?

  • Anuradha Ramkumar on Dec 29, 2009

  • diamondpoet on Dec 29, 2009

That was cute and I agree, I also had way too much food and I don’t desire to see that much food for another year.

  • Francois Hagnere on Dec 29, 2009

    Very well said, Christine.

  • Guy Hogan on Dec 29, 2009

We pay for everything, don’t we? Even the good things in life. What’s a little tummy ache compared to the wonderful feasting? Luckily, our memories are short. New Year’s Day is right around the corner. We all have another chance to assert our will power.

  • lillyrose on Dec 29, 2009

LOL… don\’t feel guilty, I should think the sales of ani acid treatment has gone through the roof!

Great one! It made me laugh too. I ate so much too. And the left overs plus all the dessert and wine. I had to lie down as well. One more dinner left until the year is over. I can’t believe is 2010 already! Then, back to eating healthy and working out.

  • fishfry aka Elizabeth Figueroa on Dec 29, 2009

  • Tina Cassello on Dec 30, 2009

Even though I do not have this problem myself, I love the way you wrote about it. Not many of us are as open and humorous about our faults as you are. You are a good, positive, role model for those of us who don’t like others to know we are fallable.

  • Elizabeth Abbott on Dec 30, 2009

This is so funny and makes me laugh! i love it. But I know the feeling! Tummy ache is not good!!!
