A poem describing the feelings of going back to work after some time off. These feelings mixed and the struggle begins. The struggle of liking work, and not liking work.

Oh My God!

What am I doing here?

This is not where I belong

Am I sure of my intentions?

Please, Oh Please

I truly don’t need this

The feelings are rushing to me

Taking over control

My brain, my body and my soul

What can I change?

Attitude?

Anger, Frustration, Anxiety

Hate, Somberness and Bored

The feelings that surface of

Good, Happy, Joyful

Hopeful, Confidence and Excitement

Not today my Lord

Not today

Maybe we try some other day

I will trudge onward

So that my bills can be paid

And I can be

Safe and Secure.
