This is a poem about someone watching a bird flying in the sky and wishing to be one themselves.

As I watch a bird fly in the sky,
reaching up oh so high.
As the sun shines brightly,
making the trees glisten so slightly.
As the cool breeze blows against my face,
as my mind and body start to race.
How I wish I could fly,
be able to soar so high.
To be able to be so free,
just imagine all the things I could see.
To be able to sit on a soft cloud,
peacefully quiet and never loud.
But then I realize that I can not fly,
I could never soar through the sky.
I must leave the flying for the birds,
because the thought of me flying is absurd.
I’ll just watch them up in the sky,
flying oh so, so very high.
