Sitting in an abandoned bar I slept about two weeks in in Chattanooga, TN.

Long journey home

Who am I kiddin’

I ain’t ever been here before.

Man, sure feels like home to me.

A regular family household

Ain’t no place I’d rather be.

The tracks are overgrown

No train been through here in years.

Sittin’ at the hopout

Waiting for a train that ain’t ever gonna come

Spent years in that depot yard,

Never did hear the whistle blow.

Where ya been man?

We ain’t been worried about ya or nothin’

Things changed, seat’s taken.

Through the backdoor,

Down the neverending corridor

Finally some peace and quiet

My mind can get out of the race

I can get out of the game

Cops ‘n Robbers

Shit gets tiring, man.

He’s scribbling mad my candlelight

Writing insane wisdom on the walls

She’s bleeding through her palms

You ought to listen

The river can tell you more than a schoolbook will.

Ever get lost in an aquarium?

Glass walls, only when ya look through

It’s a different world.

Observers observing observers.

The candle lights the match and the hat makes the trick.

Just when you think the rain is gone,

The wind remains.

Just when the moon goes down,

The stars remain.

Dreams of family run through your settled mind

And sometimes…

A great Notion comes along

You didn’t even think about

But just do it.

Seems silly at second though

But it sure did work out

Maybe you could learn something from

You Knew Who.

An exercise for your mind

And a tear drops from your fingertip

Toe nails melting off

You see a muddled reflection

In the pool at your feet.

A cigarette burns your tobacco soul

Funny thing is, Indian

The flame never goes out

Brother spider brought & it’s here to stay.

A word of wisdom:
Don’t head west.

Keep the tribe alive,

Your toes aligned,

Your soldiers in line.

A prosperous age, we have reached.

Listen to the little green man

The last of his kind

And wiser than I.

It sure feels good to produce

My cigarette goes out as I get lost in the lines.

Wonder what went down in this old bar.

It feels alright.
