A poem of an emotion break up and not letting go.
I told you once so long ago
That we’d never part
Guess I was wrong, ‘cause now you’re gone
You went and broke my heart
Why did I fall in love so hard?
I should have kept my defense high
That way it would have hurt so much
When you told me good-bye
Am I being foolish?
Am I being like a boy?
I’m crying like a baby child
When you take away its toy
Still I have my memories
They’re of you and me
‘Cause, you’re the one the only one
That these old eyes can see
You know my life is empty now and I feel so alone
I have no one to hold on to me now that you are gone
I guess I didn’t realize just what you meant to me
‘Cause everywhere I turn to look, you’re all these old eyes see
You know these weary eyes of mine
Have lost but half their sight
But I picture you here in my arms
When I go to bed each night
You whisper sweet things in my ear
As you cuddle close to me
When I awake I know you’re gone
Still you’re all these eyes could see
Am I being foolish?
Am I being like a boy?
I’m crying like a baby child
When you take away its toy
Still I have my memories
They’re of you and me
‘Cause , you’re the one the only
That these old eyes can see
