Something I wrote for a loved one, who lets her past consume her present.

You hide yourself away,

yet you yearn to let me in,

As i try to break the barriers,

i only cement you in,

There’s a wall that we are building,

our bricks are our despair,

Miscommunication, our confusion, lets prepare…….

To hide away the ghosts,

to lock away the past,

To empty out our closets,

and the skeletons at last,

To forget about the bad times,

and the sorrows and the blues,

There’s a whole life there ahead for us,

i know i want it, but do you??…….

And yes the sun goes down, yes the night arrives,

yes the air grows cold and it can taint your eyes,

But yet the sun comes up, and yes the light survives,

yes your past was cold, but our futures bright!……

So pack away your bricks,

and ill pack away my rubble,

together we’ll knock down these walls,

and we’ll chase away the trouble,

we’ll put away the past, and we’ll put away the struggle,

we’ll try and make it last… together… forever… times double!

Old ghosts die hard… Old ghosts die hard… But ghosts are dead.. Lets let the dead rest!!
