Thoughts along the shore.

Slate gray, the skies

lowering over the steely water

white caps break on white sand

snowbirds walk the shoreline

Soon, the students will flock

like birds upon this beach

arrayed in their splendorous color

and singing their mating songs

But, for now,

I alone sit here, watching, writing

just An Old Man and the Sea.

My friend, Hemingway has smitten you but I must say that title alone should get you 1000 views.

You are really getting the hang of using words to paint a picture that tells a story. I had to read this twice. Not because I did not understand it, but because I wanted to “see” it again.

    Thanks Geny.
Guy, glad you like it sir. Padiwan is trying to learn. And, I figure I couldn’t find a better Yoda than my bud in Pittsburgh. Have a great one.

Perfectly wonderful poem and you are not alone in your love for Hemmingway. He is one of my all time favorites. This is a very well written poem and I hope some magazine or anthology picks it up for big bucks. It is that good.
