This is a story on how two online friends met… and how it was when they really met in person.
On Line
This is a true story of Rachel and Tyler. I wrote this story for them as a little gift. Hope you will like it!
I said to myself a long time ago that I would never believe in love online. That was that before. When I entered my sophomore year in high school, it was when my thoughts on that changed. I met a nice young man online. Now the problem would be me—what should I do now? He was a year younger and very innocent. He said words that made my young eyes sparkle; it was hard for me to consider him as a stranger. It was as if I’ve known him for so long. He completely understood me, and I loved his style. If only we would get the chance to meet someday, it would make it a lot better.
How did I get to meet him? His older sister Anna is my friend. However, we do not really hang around much. It was only when I got interested in him that I started going with her. I found out a lot of things about their family, and most of all, I got even closer with him. Since he studied in a different school, it would be hard to settle a time to meet. For a while, I’ve decided to let that pass. I was content with our online friendship.
Months went by and I started to get curious. When would I ever get to meet him? One certain event in our school, crowds of people gathered around the school’s quadrangle. I caught a glimpse of my friend Anna together with a young man about my age. At that moment, it got to me that it might me him. I moved my way through the crowd, heading towards them. When I was about three feet away from them, the guy turned around. I stopped, and he stopped. We just stared at each other, not saying anything. I never knew his face, nor did he know mine. All I knew was that he was the brother of my friend Anna. I moved forward and got to Anna. She said that I was looking for me. I asked her who the other guy was; she said that it was her brother. Without even introducing him to me, I found myself hugging him. It was an outburst of emotions. Anna, on the other hand, was so shocked with our sudden action. It was a public display of affection, but I did not care. I would consider that moment as serendipity. I still could not decipher why and how the act of hugging came to me. I normally do not do that with strangers. After lasting that moment, I struggled away to move out. The sense of humiliation could just fly to us. We quickly broke away, but then we noticed the crowd. I remembered the line I made on the crowd that got me from the other end to where I was. That line grew wider, and the crowd broke in two. People were still scattered around, but it was the line that got us into place. So I invited him, “Hey, do you want to get a drink?”
