No friends could rescue him. It is a night of betrayal by a closer friend who never wish his dreams never come through.

What love a friend has for his friends

To give his life for the sake of love

He took bread and broke it with his friends

That is my body, eat it.

This you will always remember.

Again, he took the wine and blessed it

This is my blood to be shed for all

In the same bowl they all eat and drank

But he proclaimed just of you

The one who will betray me.

It was a night of temptation

A night felled with evil thought and trial

Though they knew it was dark

The right time to do evil

A holy friend betrayed him

With a kiss he handed him over

To be scourged and killed by heartless soldiers

His defenders tried but failed to hide him

Their weapons were so strong to maim him.

And so his friends ran away and never stood

Where were they when they tortured him?

‘You must be one his friends’ They asked.

No and I said no I do not know him.

And I again I said two more time ‘No’

For three good times he betrayed him.

And so we do break the bread and pass the cup to remember His body broken and His blood shed for the cleansing of our souls.
