A Thanksgiving Day poem, with all the craziness that happens during the prep. Give thanks!

ON THIS DAY, THANKS

The turkey’s on the table,

Fragrant spices fill the air,

A spiral-sliced ham sits next to it,

Ready to be laid bare;

The children are helping grandma,

Mashed potatoes to the fore,

Gravy whipped and set to side,

Avoiding animals on the floor;

Napkins, plates, and silverware,

Condiments set in place,

The table looking wonderful,

Set time’s become a race;

Relatives abounding,

Making holiday moments,

A dinner fresh on this great day,

Hoping for a moment of silence;

Finally, the feast is ready,

With corn, pumpkin, and cranberry,

We all sit down and bow our heads,

Give thanks to God and be merry.

    Lovely. I felt like I was there. I love family all together bowing heads it’s a blessed feeling. Great poem. Would make a nice thanksgiving greeting card for Blue Mountain arts. They are looking for poems. Pays $50 or $300 to go in their anthology. You may of heard of them. Good legitimate company.
