Darling can you tie my string?
On your road the bugs caught in your hair
Refugees,
‘Cos dead leaves limp off fisted trees
Rebirthed with the paves as slippy sleaze.
Maybe there’re some pirates on the rocks tonight
Gospel in the sea mist through the avenue and up the flight
Of stairs into the park
Hang your holiday rainbow lights
Gospel in both ears and the haze swims
Around the faux-Tudor buildings
Claudia’s probably on the couch
Watching from dream house
We’ll stand by your pool.
Darling can you tie my string
Fuzzed lamps dancing around the mezzanine
God sieved down stars through the trees as the mist
Waves gospel let me come over I’ll waste your time I’m bored
Let me come over I’m bored
Moon on the rocks,
I think you’d like this.
