Have you ever had the scenes in your life play over and over until you are no longer fazed by them?

Image via Wikipedia

I sit, unmoved, a face of stone

As you play what should be the role of a lifetime

Your objective; convince me of your love

For me

It would have been easy

I loved you with all my

Heart and my might

It was never enough

What more was expected?

Now the roles reverse

Your motivation; you stand on the verge

Of losing everything

Too late you realize I was all you needed

You call out for me in the night

I am cavalier, not persuaded

You pace the stage

Pleading, crying

A scene repeated all too often

Cliché

It no longer touches me

Merely echoes in the emptiness

Wow, this poem perfectly illustrates the unfortunate transformation that a broken heart can bring about.

There are times when you get to the point when you think “I’m Done!” and they can play any game they think will work. But, alas, it has no effect. Well written.

You have written yet another strong piece. Men can be so foolish in their conquests in life. They give up so much in pursuit of something or someone that has no meaning, when in fact the true love in their life is right in front of them.

Looks like someone is getting dumped but they deserve it.

Love is just like a biological substance-it is born, grows, if not well nurtured, it dwarfs and gets retarded, if well nurtured, it grows and blooms and bears fruits then it lingers on until death do you part! The mistake we all make is not to nurture love-the results of not caring for the love we already take for granted is the death of that love and eternal heart ache that goes on and on!

@gaby7 – You are exactly right. When taken for granted and left untended, love dies just like any other living thing.
