A poem about the environment.

Once upon a time long, long ago,

The Earth was blooming and aglow

Lush, full, and green, so green

Beauty abounded, and life was a dream…

Lost forever, this old world be

Look around you and this is what you see:

Stale, lonely, and gray, so gray

Laughing is forbidden, all work and no play

The earth is dying, and all of our thoughts

Are of gas prices, depression, and how much stock we’ve bought

For every reason there is hope, this much is true

The world and its fate depend on people like you!

 Reduce, reuse, recycle, renew!

Just imagine what might be seen

If we all just opened our eyes

If we became a little kinder

And our hearts went up in size

Sometimes this world is just not nice

It’s certainly no paradise

But we surely can make it come close

And after that…

Who knows?
