A poem about 911.

One fine day, evil came our way.

Flying through the air , to cause so much despair.

Killing and maiming at their own cost.

Children watched T.V. screens, all their innocence lost.

They try to understand the images they see

And pray for a time all people will be free.

People talked to each other, it all seemed so strange.

This was the day the world changed.

One fine day, when the cloud disappeared

So many people shed so many tears.

People lost, people found, fireman listened for every sound.

So many souls lost beneath the Twin Towers.

Governments searched for the faceless coward’s

Who caused such anguish , and so much pain.

How could they use Gods name for gain.

To gain their freedom in their holy lands

They kneel down to pray with blood soaked hands.

If God looks down, does he think it’s strange

That this was the day His world changed.

One fine day the leaders agreed

We have to destroy the demon seed.

To hunt them down in Afghanistan,

And try to dismember the Taliban.

Who holds it’s people in a grip of fear

The war could go on for many a year.

But it has to be done, the war must be won.

There has to be freedom for everyone.

Why does this concept seem so strange.

This was the day the world changed.

One fine day, as the bombs rained down .

And began to destroy everything on the ground.

The Muslim world scorned the western infidels

While innocent people went through hell.

As generals gave their precision bombs homage

Civilians died from collateral damage.

It has to be done , the war must be won

The terrorists have to give up the gun.

Holding a gun has to feel strange.

Let this be the time for change.

One fine day, when the war is won.

And mothers cry for the loss of their sons.

In Gods eyes which is worse?

The cause for freedom or the terrorists curse.

In the end are we not all the same?

We all sometimes use the Lords name in vain.

Do we not live and die the same as each other?

It’s only our beliefs that are not like our brothers.

Some believe dying is the reason for living.

While others believe in life, and the power of forgiving.

To each other we all seem so strange.

Can this world ever really change.?
