About anorexia and the bad side of beauty contests.

One in three chances to win they say,
One in three chances to lose is another way

Day after day looking for just the right girl
The one with the beauty, style and wits
The one thats just the right size so all the clothes can fit
Size zero, weighing a hundred and five pounds

Oh no, she gained a pound,
Got to starve and fight to survive
Just to be the right size

Her cheeks are sunken in from all the weights shes lost
Another panic attack is just part of the cost

All the girls live thier lives in this way
All the girls lose more than just a competition
They lose the rest of their lives
and the fight to survive
Is just the start

Well written about a sad but true all to common occurrence. Nicely done

Excellent word formation and flow. I do not like beauty pageants, because beauty is in the heart and soul, not the physical body. Good job!

so true, girls define beauty the outside way but wise men seek the inner beauty..

this poem depicts the destructive parts of not fully looking at the INSIDE of anyone.

This poem doesn’t just make me think of anerexia, but also the flaws of all competition. When only a few months ago, another Olympics passed and some compeditors were banned from the games for testing positive to this, or attacking another because of a disqualification: I can’t help but feel we forget why we’re competing too often. A good coach is like a good parent in that way.
