This is the first time I am submitting my poem in Triond…Hope you guys will like the poem and the message that it conveys..
On my deathbed, today I lie
To rewind my thoughts of life,I try
When I was a child,it was my earnest desire
To go skating, but it went on fire
An anxious lady was my granny old
“You’ll bruise your knee”,to me she told
Longingly I looked at my friends’ skate
And brooded over my pathetic fate
But my grandmom was merry and gay
‘Cos all her rules, I obey.
In my youth,I had a gripping wish
I wanted to go to the deepest sea to fish
My mother who was afraid of the water blue
Said I would catch a fatal flu
I had to forget my fancies and whims
Albeit I dreamt of shuddering, silver fins
But my mother was merry and gay
‘Cos all her rules, I obey.
When I grew up,I wanted to become an actor
But in the fields,I was forced to drive the tractor
My father,strict and stout,named Sam
Was trying hard to improve his farm
So I drove the tractor and tilled the soil
For my dreams,I did not toil
But my father was merry and gay
‘Cos all his rules,I obey.
On my deathbed,today I lie
To rewind my thoughts of life,I try
Never did I do what I had liked
But to others,I always obliged
No skating,no acting,no fishing,nothing
Of my wish,I could have done something
Next time I swore,I will skate and fish
No matter what I will fulfill all my wish
But it is then that I realise with pain
There is no life to live again!
