It takes just a moment of carelessness for the HIV to enter into an erstwhile healthy person’s bloodstream.Despite all efforts to curb the spread, the virus is likely to remain with mankind for sometime.
Just one of those numerous, innocent seconds
Or one of those ticking minutes, fecund;
Just one uncapped moment
When the heart trounces the head,
As often it does:
Behind closed doors,
Where the ghastly virus lurks.
Soon a virile mind is slain
On the laboratory slide or smear.
Sun or rain;
Courage or fear;
Do the test
And later find out the rest.
Whether we like or despise it,
Lecherous lovebirds will continue
To be torn asunder, unwed,
Soon after emerging from closed doors
With thorns sticking to their dishevelled hair.
