I lay here thinking of you

As I do every night,

Holding back the tears,

Sure is a fight.

If I could have one wish,

It would be one more day.

With you in my arms,

There’s so much I have to say.

Would be a dream come true.

Just one more day,

To be with you.

I gave you life,

And now I can’t see your face.

I feel like a failure,

Such a disgrace.

I push away my feelings,

Force the pain away,

And just pray for your happiness,

Every single day.

God promises He’ll watch you.

He’ll take good care of you I know,

I leave your lives in His hands,

He’ll help you grow.

Even as I say this,
