This is a poem about Anne Frank’s account of the holocaust and a reminder that there were millions of other stories that were never told.

Hiding, like mice, from a faceless enemy
Herded and demoralized, your kind is purged
Desperation, using knowledge as a shield
Your bookcase saves you today but tomorrow it will be gone
Millions have perished, there’s no hope for you
Two years, have destroyed your sanity
Your wretched existence scribbled down
Knocks on a door that doesn’t exist
Curious at first, then demanding
Obscenities yelled in angered German
Open the fucking door
They burst in, surround you and your cohorts
Lifeless corpses, paralyzed with fear
Struck down with the fear of the unknown
How much longer until your life is ended?
Cattle cars, long dead roads, your life flashes by
Stripped of all humanity, your hair is first to go
The stench of burning flesh overpowers your virgin soul
Witnessing your future, you weep and shriek
Your mother is busy with the gas in her lungs
You’re all alone, a star to hold onto
As your days draw to a close, no food adorns your throat
Pain, writhing from within, you pray for your end
Your eyes die inside your head, hiding from the world
The reaper grasps your motionless corpse
And rips you down to the depths of his kingdom
Your family awaits you, everyone but your father
Genocide complete, you are one upon millions

This is such an incredible poem. It really depicts the horror of what millions went through.

Your very impressive poem about the holocaust and genocide reveals the barbarism and ruthless violence that even now terrifies us.

That was deep. The horror of this tragedy in history to remind us of how cruel people can be over beliefs.
