All alone in the desert I will be tested by completing my first kill.

Time snails across the desert, I sit and wait

Sand grinds against my teeth like a jeweler’s wheel

Redness in my eyes like a Martian landscape

Life contains no life, alone but not desolate I wait

Sand grinds against my teeth like a jeweler’s wheel

Painfully polishing my teeth and gums

Life contains no life, alone but not desolate I wait

For the moment of truth, my first kill

Sand painfully polishing my teeth and gums

Keeps me alert to my surroundings

For the moment of truth, my first kill

I remain strong in my aloneness

Keeps me alert to my surroundings

You whom I’ve not had the pleasure of knowing

I remain strong in my aloneness

As I contemplate your final moments

You whom I’ve not had the pleasure of knowing

You are a stranger to me

As I contemplate your final moments

On this lovely planet

You are a stranger to me

Yet I long to know something of you

On this lovely planet

We are one though individual

Yet I long to know something of you

I see you through the sandy haze

We are one though individual

Then is now and tomorrow is today

I see you through the sandy haze

My scope is powerful

Then is now and tomorrow is today

What am I doing here

My scope is powerful

My longing for kindness deep

What am I doing here

Waiting to take a life I’ve never known

My longing for kindness deep

Tears cover my eyes like gauze curtains

Waiting to take a life I’ve never known

My decision is swift and final

Tears cover my eyes like gauze curtains

I cry for mercy

My decision is swift and final

I caress the trigger like a woman’s flesh

I cry for mercy

My waiting is nearly done

I caress the trigger like a woman’s flesh

So warm yet powerful

My waiting is nearly done

Time is not linear

So warm yet powerful

My thoughts of you and your family

Time is not linear

All exist side by side

My thoughts of you and your family

Of a wife who waits alone

All exist side by side

At once in different dimensions

Of a wife who waits alone

Forever is here and now

At once in different dimensions

I ponder our fate

Forever is here and now

I gently squeeze the trigger

I, Special Forces sniper.

It must be strange to take a men\’s life knowing he actually is no more no less than oneself. As we all are one.

    Very good poem, mate!
