No one can love enough for two ~anonymous.

as soon as the weight comes off
as soon as I bleach my hair
as soon as the weight comes off
as soon as I enlarge my breast
as soon as the weight comes off
as soon as I bring in a third in bed
as soon as the weight comes off
as soon as I lose my voice
as soon as the weight comes off
as soon as I lose myself
as soon as the weight comes off

she thinks….

he will love her like he loves himself

Bravo!! a different approach of your subject style; repetition is what grabs, I loved this piece and the title; Absolutely Brilliant!

I’m in love with this poem. No matter what she does it will remain the same and she would always come up with an excuse and something else she has to do for him to love her. The sad part is that he would not change!

This poem isnt about any one particular woman either. However it is about women who lose themselves and their self respect to the overwhelming and self absorbed will of their alledged love interest.

So one sided, she should shake that guy off and find someone better.

wow, sad but true..there are many woman like that, if a man loves you ,he loves you for who you are and not what you can be,many think some self absorbed men will CHANGE if like you said ..i lose weight, do my hair..etc..ppl. in general really dont change but i do believe one can better themselves and be a little different then what they were, but in that case one must want to do that themselves not be told to do it! in this write a woman losing herself to get him is the worse she could do for a man loves a confident woman.not the person w/ the low self esteem..good write!!!

If we think we arent good enough for others then our fear often becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Sometimes, someone gets lucky and finds someone who sees beyond their idiosyncracies and insecurities.
