This poem is about taking advantage of an opportunity; a possibility at something better or greater.
The oldest human being hears
Age old questions from fools who don’t have faith in you
Turning their cheeks to continue accepting what is,
Never fighting for what could be
The very last
OPPORTUNITY.
The kindest human being feels
Rejected by arrogant fools who are too stubborn to accept you for
Answering the call in the most unfortunate circumstances
Disregarding completely what could be the very last
OPPORTUNITY.
The most caring human being taste
Bitterness from those who blame time for being some coconspirator,
Showing up amidst activities for which they cannot walk away. Of all that’s promised
Tomorrow, today may be the very last
OPPORTUNITY.
The most alert human being sees
Those who accept the call believing in Him who has granted access
Into a place of uncertainty, however it is fully equipped in
Preparation for the right
OPPORTUNITY.
Still there is an odor; a foul stench that invades the atmosphere
Raining down excuses from those who don’t believe it is time.
Perhaps tomorrow is better suited or do they say give me more time
To seize that
OPPORTUNITY.
Only now it is gone.
