Discussions on optimisim and pessimism.

By always expecting the best or at least seeing the blessing in every situation you will be a happier person because even in disappointments you will see the excellence, and be able to take even a little cheerfulness in that. If, however, you only focus on the negative aspects of situations, you will become depressed. It has been proven that people who view life and issues in more hopeful, positive terms generally lead happier and more productive lives. This makes perfect sense, because by expecting the best out of situations you are not afraid of the negative outcomes that could come about. If you are constantly worrying about things turning for the worse you live your life in fear and you can not be as happy. For example, on a rainy day a pessimist might growl and complain about the inconvenience of it all while an optimist would see all the good the rain was doing. Also, by focusing on the positive aspects of the issue they are undoubtedly having a better day, because they are not thinking negatively. This is why optimism is the best way, because you expect the best and find a joy in every disappointment.

It is true that there are a number of dire things in the world and with every situation. While that may be true it is also never smart to dwell on these things, or to only expect the worst. Expecting that will not lead to any improvement, because you are already thinking it can not be done. Acknowledging the bad is defiantly a smart thing to do when you have an optimistic attitude about it, because then you can change it for the better.

Optimism and pessimism are two different systems for dealing with life. With the optimistic style you take every morsel life gives you, and try to see the benefit of it. In the pessimistic viewpoint every morsel is negative or has some negative quality. Life is much easier and tasks can be completed better when taken from the view that the best will inevitably come about, and you will have a much happier, more productive future.
