If you’ve ever had gout you know how painful it can be.

Image via Wikipedia

Woe, for my foot that cries in pain

I beg thee that it soon should cease

But, my diet has now done me in

And so my pain seems to increase

To step the slightest draws a cry

To have the blanket touch it, too

That’s when I wish that I would die

Just so the pain would pass on through

But, salt and seafood had their hold

Inspiring blood pressure to make a rise

I wish I listened when I was told

So now all I do is, in pain, I cry

Well written poem of pain and woe. Listen to your doctor.

I’ve never had gout, but a friend of mine suffers with it and I can tell he’s in lots of pain.

My dad suffered from gout before. He said it was painful. The doctor told him to eat lots and lots of cherries. It worked.

You explain this pain so well with your words in this piece of prose. I never read anything so riveting about pain.

Reminds me of my gout article having the same photo. Very nicely done, Michael.
