A poem about the environment and climate change.

a cold harsh wind blows across this land
with a like, never ending story
and in its path its troubles shed
its goal; the power and glory

with wings of steel it thunders on
with thoughtless damned remorse
for all that man has caused its pain
it keeps its steadfast defiant course

it causes hurt and fear and death
to all that finds its path
it shows no shame as it plunders on
administering its awful wrath

the young the old the strong the bold
all lay down neath its grasp
with helpless hands and prayers galore
the signs the human race ignore

and mother earth breathes a sigh
a battle won, well just for now
she will see what man will do to right
the wrongs of environmental blight

the earth it casts its thoughtful plan
on thoughtless plans derived by man
on earths dear air, sea and land
where man resides by God’s command

if man must live until his return
a unity of earth and man must forge
for soon the earth no more will be
and mankind damned for eternity
