Two young black men with the dream of living the American Dream one day.
We as two young black men have a destiny
It’s to be all that we can be
Letting the world see our brains getting put to a test
Us two putting in so much effort giving it our best
Trying to get rid of that bad name they would give us young black men
Saying that we do what we do and we’re still losers at the end
We can try to change their thoughts
But we tried for years, I give up, so the battle here is lost
Scorned by society
And because of the color of our skin we look for jobs.. but there’s no variety
As hard as life is we fight
Trying to live the American Dream house on the hill, graceful kids and a beautiful wife
But that life to us is all in our mind
The only thing we see moving forward is time
Hated by many, confronted by all nose flared up like we as a whole are abroad
Refusal to be the statistic of the uran society’s downfall
Drug dealers, murderers, or rapists we won’t fail
Some say because we’re successful we’re snitches but we won’t tell
But someone will but it won’t be us two
Because we’re strong black successful men that only do what we want to do
Our most powerful skill we may have is our knowledge
So therefore Todd & Tyquan must pledge
But toward the white men we’re underdogs
But toward the people who look up to us we’re the law.
Our Destiny is to never fall!
