The feeling that the end of love is near, but you’re not ready to accept it until it’s long gone.
Our Last Dance
Today’s the day that we’ve long dread
the day that destiny will cut our thread
and now we sit and we wait, and we remember….
We knew this day would come, but still we trespassed
All in all, the time we spent, it went by so fast
If I lost my life today, my life would still be complete….
Then it finally hits me, this truly is the end
I see your saddened face, into my arms I then descend
My face tears up, but I hold strong, but i wonder for how long….
But then you say those three small words
that phrase often said, only now, finally heard
then you shut your eyes, in your arms you start to cry….
My lips now quiver, and I send them back
comforting words are what I lack
and so I watch as it all ends in front of me….
I lean in and close my eyes
Our hopes and dreams now intertwined
The bittersweet taste of forsaken love……
Abruptly, you are swept away like a leaf in the wind
Had destiny appeared, it would surely have grinned
as you walk out the door, into your car, forever gone….
But I waved to you every step of the way
you turn the corner, our stage turns to gray
Our last dance, is nothing more than our last memory…..
