Reminiscence of life before and after children.
All the Joys of England
All the Joys of Spain
Cant compare to someone
Who’s name I shall not name
Within our lives together
We often had a spell
Of quiet contemplations
For we knew each other well
We’d sit and read or write or play
Just a glance was all we’d say
But when the silence grew too loud
A change occurred of which I’m proud
For each of us would turn and smile
Our thoughts connecting all the while
A smile, a clinch, joined us two
What happened next was out of view
While we were young and free to roam
We often moved from home to home
We’d tour the land by car or bike
And stop the night just where we liked
But after years, some five and ten
Our lives where changed for it was then
That a child was born to us one day
And as she came peace went away
From three to five our numbers grew
Now thats enough I’m telling you
It’s hard to hold more little hands
And tough to cope with their demands
Demands grew louder with the years
And we gave in easily to tears
Despite the noise their smiles shone through
Now all are in their teens – are you?
