This is a poem relating to nature.

The morning broken
Left by only shadows
Big open spaces
Footprints of wildlife
Leaving their traces

A place still holding
So much mystery
Only 300 years
Of written history

All the trees are green
And the streams are clear
The mountains so big
All the fresh crisp air

So many stars
Come out at night
They twinkle and shine
Burning so bright

The deserts are filled
With sand and dunes
The lakes echoing the sounds
Of the mating loons

A place with the grizzly
And polar bear
Where the gray wolf hunts
The white tailed deer

Out west is a place
Where freedom reigns
Where the buffalo go
To roam on the planes

Out west is a place
Still untainted
No buildings built up
Left unpainted

Someday
I’m going to go out west
To be at peace with nature
Would be the absolute best

Beautiful poem by an obvious nature lover. Thank goodness for poetic license allowing polar bears to mingle with grizzlies.

Lovely poem. You paint a very beautiful, vivid, and accurate picture of the west and the tone is just amazing.

    Well done!
